I am directed to invite your attention to Court's circular letters issued from time to
time noted on the margin, on the above subject, and to request you kindly to ensure that

these notifications and Government Orders, save reservation in promotion and forming
Committee consisting of a member of SC/ST and one member of Backward class, as
provided in G.O. No. 483 dated 29.3.94.

In exercise of the powers under sub-section (5) of Section 3 of the Uttar Pradesh
Public Services (Reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other
Backward Classes) Act, 1994 (U.P. Act No. 4 of 1994), the Governor is pleased to issue

In pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution, the
Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of
Notification no. 482/Ka-1-1994 dated March 29, 1994.

In excercise of the powers under sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Uttar Pradesh
Public Services (Reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other
Backward Classes) Act, 1994 (U.P. Act no. 4 of 1994), the Governor is pleased to entrust
the appointing authority with respect to the public services and posts on which he is
empowered to make appointment and the Principal Secretary or the Secretary, as the case
may be of the concerned department, where the appointing authority is the Governor with
the responsibility of ensuring the compliance of the provisions of the said Act.
