## Where it comes from

- **Supreme Court Reports** — the Court's own official reporter, published free at digiscr.sci.gov.in. The text, the headnotes and the printed pagination are the reporter's.
- **Indian Law Reports, Allahabad Series** — published by the Allahabad High Court at allahabadhighcourt.in as monthly volumes. A volume is a single PDF of several hundred pages holding dozens of judgments; here each judgment is a document of its own, with its own address, its own citation and its own full text. That split is the work this site does to it.
- **Circular letters of the Allahabad High Court** — the registry's administrative papers, 1894 onwards. As far as we know there is no other full-text searchable copy.
- **The bare acts** — the India Code editions, as published by the Ministry of Law and Justice.

## What is done to it

The text layer is extracted from the PDF as published — there is no OCR step here, and no rekeying. Nothing is rewritten, summarised or generated: no page on this site carries machine-written prose in place of the court's words. What is added is structure — the paragraph and page divisions, the citation graph, and the index of which judgments construe which provision.
